Silicon carbide SIC Ceramic Foam Filter for Foundry Molten Metal Castings Filtration

Ceramic foam filters of NINGXIN are developed and manufactured for the filtration of molten metals. As the most advanced filter type with the highest filtration efficiency, It can effectively reduce inclusions and turbulence of molten metal, ensuring purified molten metal goes into the mold cavity with improved flow rates.


Reticulated Ceramic Foundry Filter

Ceramic foam filters can effectively remove non-metallic inclusions including slag and dross from the molten metal stream. Additionally, foam filters aid in reducing turbulence in the gating system. Ceramic foam filter's outstanding thermal shock resistance and high strength properties were developed for superior performance in extreme metal casting foundry applications. 

Simplified pouring system and increasing pouring efficiency

The lengthy runner can be shortened when filters are used. It could greatly save scrap    recycling cost, save pouring times and improve pouring efficiency.

Remove tiny slag effectively and purify molten metal

Ceramic foam filters can adsorb nearly 0.1mm diameter tiny slags based on it's special working principle.

Well-distributed molten metal and improve performance

After purification, the casting's density and strength are improved and elongation and impact toughness is improved greatly, some extension rate even can be increased by 19-30%. Therefore, the casting mechanical properties and processing performance are improved obviously.

Reduce turbulence

The molten metal can be changed from turbulent flow to laminar flow when through the 3D structure ceramic foam filters. This could greatly reduce the casting bubble defect.
